In Week 1, I designed up with 2 personas that are related to our capstone project. As a team, we decided to have a persona that is a child learning how to read and another persona is a student of Early Childhood Development & Education (ECDE). I have wrote out my group's story outline after discussing the overall plot with my team. The story outline will be further improved by my group mates Wipha and Shiyu into thumbnails and storyboard version.

Initial Story Outline

Brief storyline done by me, subjected to changes.

I did this story outline while thinking of the possible morals that we are able to teach young children through our storybook. I took note of the main character being a platypus and since platypus have body parts that resembles other animal, we decided that the family concept can be used in our story.

This story surrounds around family, but it is definitely not blood related but focus strongly on the bonds. The animals interaction will let the children learn the differences and similarities between the animals in our story by pointing out the beaks being the same.

This will improve the young children recognition of animals and expand their vocabulary used to describe animals. A repeated storyline is used when meeting the duck and beaver since we specially cater it to younger children's interest.
