The Risk Of Fire & ASTRONAUTS

The Risk Of Fire is a VR fire simulation experience that educates user on what to do when there is a fire emergency. Our VR application is targeted at Oculus Quest users. Our simulation is guided by a panel before the user but it is entirely possible to fail the simulation.

ASTRONAUTS is a group of designers and programmers in Ngee Ann Polytechnic that aims to make interesting VR applications that serves to educate. We chose to do a fire simulation as fires happen frequently in Singapore and we hope for our application to assists fire drills that are carried out often in schools and companies but not homes.

My role in eduSpace is a programmer and I worked with another programmer in my team to complete our VR application. I did the in-game physics such as the fire extinguisher, allow the cloth to be placed over the player's head, opening of doors, going up and down the stairs and the movement of the player. Cheat mode is included for testing purposes.
